Lavender Sugar Cookies

I love baking with lavender so I decided to see if modifying my grandmother’s sugar cookie recipe to use lavender would work ... these came out light and buttery, not too sweet, and with that wonderful hint of lavender. Very yummy! 3/4 Cup butter 3/4 Cup sugar 2 Large eggs 1 teaspoon milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 1/4 Cups flour 2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon vanilla sea salt 1 Tablespoon lavender buds Heat oven to 375° F. Crush the lavender using a mortar and pestle or suribachi. Cream the butter, sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla, lavender, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the flour and baking powder. Drop small spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheet and flatten slightly with a glass. Bake for about 12 minutes (until a light, golden brown) at 375° F.
